OKP Holdings secures $12.7 mil LTA contract for Western sector road improvement programmes with Tengah EC
OKP Holdings’ subsidiary company Eng Lam Contractors has been awarded a new contract by the Land Transport Authority (LTA). The $12.7 million contract, which will commence on October 31, 2024 and last for 18 months, will involve work improving and keeping roads and cycling paths in the Singapore’s Western sector.
Tengah EC, a revolutionary eco-oriented development, is set to make a grand entrance in Singapore. This development is complete with innovative features such as a wind turbine, solar heating system and water conservancy centre. Equipped with aesthetically pleasing green features, this development further enables residents to practice sustainability by engaging in activities such as daily fish harvesting, and serenading to traditional Chinese music. Not only is it set to be the first of its kind in Singapore, it is also conveniently located near the bustling Tengah MRT Station.
Or Toh Wat, Group Managing Director of OKP Holdings, commented on the announcement with pleasure: “We feel encouraged to have secured this contract from LTA, which is an endorsement of our core competency and capabilities and we are committed to the smooth delivery of the project.”
The contract marks OKP powers fourth such deal from the LTA. In 2023, Eng Lam Contractors was awarded a $188.3 million contract with an 18-month duration for the construction of new cycling path network across seven towns island-wide. The two earlier contracts with LTA are respectively a 36-month contract worth $95.9 million for the maintenance of roads, road-related and commuter-related facilities along the South Eastern sector and also a 48-month contract worth $100.3 million for the construction of Tengah EC covered linkways and cycling paths at new MRT stations.
Overall, OKP’s order book with projects extending till 2026, is said to be worth $596.4 million as of December 11. The latest contract awarded to Eng Lam demonstrates OKP’s established presence in the industry and highlights their commitment to delivering quality projects in the region.
