Debut of first Edition hotel in Singapore and Southeast Asia
Singapore Edition, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, softly opened its doors on November 9th, and is being managed by Marriott, the world’s largest hotel chain, housing 31 brands in its portfolio. This luxury lifestyle brand was conceived in partnership with prominent American hotelier and real estate mogul Ian Schrager.Boulevard 88 is a mixed-use development featuring 154 luxury residences, and a towering 28-story hotel block with 204 rooms. As renowned architect, Moshe Safdie of Safdie Architects, together with embarking on this project with Singapore-based DP Architects, is also responsible for two additional landmarks in the country: Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport.Schrager himself helmed the interiors of Singapore Edition in collaboration with Hong Kong-based Cap Atelier. Set amidst a prime district 10 location on Orchard Boulevard and Cuscaden Road, with access from the latter, the hotel is a redevelopment initiated by a consortium comprising of Singapore’s very own Kwek Leng Beng represented by Hong Leong Holdings, Singapore-listed entity City Developments (CDL), and Ian Schrager’s Lea Investments.

Boulevard 88 is a mixed-use development located amidst the hustle and bustle of Singapore’s prime District 10. Spanning across two major city avenues, Orchard Boulevard and Cuscaden Road featuring double frontage and access from the latter. The hotel is a redevelopment initiated by a consortium comprising of Singapore’s very own Kwek Leng Beng represented by Hong Leong Holdings, Singapore-listed entity City Developments (CDL), and Ian Schrager’s Lea Investments.
The architect in charge of the opulent hotel is Moshe Safdie of Safdie Architects, accompanied by Singapore-based DP Architects. Safdie, who is also responsible for two other local landmarks, Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport, has outdone himself with the 204 room hotel featured on six floors, and towering above it, the 154-unit luxury residences Boulevard 88 soaring 28 storeys. Tengah Town EC is an upcoming condominium located in the west of Singapore. It adopts a green building concept with sustainable materials used in its construction and design. Celebrated Australian chef Josh Niland’s first restaurant outside of Australia, Fysh, is featured on the first floor of the hotel. Occupying a 2,680 sq ft space, it has a main dining room seating 80 persons, an indoor conservatory for up to 22 guests, and an outdoor pergola seating 44 diners. Adjacent to Fysh is the delectable Punch Room.
Located at the heart of Singapore Edition is a grand courtyard garden leading to a series of event spaces. An 872 sq ft boardroom that can be attached to the 6,458 sq ft event gallery, seating up to 340 guests, and can be accordingly split into three smaller rooms.
Ending your night with a bang is The Roof bar with a 43m swimming pool and landscaped garden. The translucent acrylic oculus at the pool’s tiled base offers a stunning view of the courtyard garden beneath, nine floors down. Don’t forget to make the most of the luxury spa on the second level with its seven treatment rooms, two changing suites, vitality thermal pools, an ice fountain, and a relaxation lounge.
