Eco Boards for Residents of Tengah Town for Environment Monitoring
To promote greener living, the Tengah township is rolling out eco-boards, which will tell Tengah EC residents about ways to save energy and money. Residents will also be encouraged to engage in utilities-saving competitions among themselves. Prospective residents can also visit the MyTengah Experience Centre in HDB Hub Toa Payoh, where they can learn more about CCS and see how it works in a real-life home setting. The centre is open to the public daily, 8am to 5pm.
New Port Residences EC
Located in the southwest of Singapore, Tengah at New Port Residences EC features an eco-friendly and sustainable town centre. Its car-free design is made possible by the underground roads that separate pedestrian areas from motor traffic. Residents and visitors of this eco-town can walk or cycle through the town centre, and will enjoy easy access to shopping malls and green spaces. The eco town’s design integrates smart technologies into the infrastructure to promote resource efficiency and sustainability.
The eco-friendly development is located near numerous greenery reserves, including Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. It is connected to the Choa Chu Kang MRT station and other nearby areas through smart public transport. There are also many water bodies in the development, which purify the air.
Forest City of Tengah
To promote sustainable development, the Housing & Development Board of Tengah is collaborating with a local power company to create a new software system for residents to monitor their energy usage. The aim is to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy bills through this new software. The town is also being built using computer simulations to optimize energy usage. Among other innovations, the town will have smart lights that will turn off when an area is empty. It will also have conveyance systems to transport waste.
The project will create a smart, sustainable town, which will feature 42,000 homes. The town will have five distinct residential districts: Garden, Park, Brickland, Forest Hill, and Plantation. There will also be a designated walking and cycling zone. The town is also expected to be the first car-free town in Singapore.
One Tengah
The town’s Eco Boards will promote sustainable living and encourage residents to monitor their energy and water usage. The boards will also feature green tips and contests for utility savings. Using smart technologies, the Eco Boards will help residents monitor their utilities and reduce their carbon footprint.
The smart-enabled homes will incorporate artificial intelligence and data analytics to reduce energy usage. For example, they will automatically adjust lighting levels based on the volume of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area. This will reduce energy consumption and ensure sufficient lighting throughout the town. Smart socket outlets will monitor electricity and water usage, empowering residents to make cost-saving decisions.
Residents of the town can access the city via buses and the Jurong Region Line. Most residential areas will be within walking distance of the MRT station. The town will be covered with greenery and have dedicated areas for community farming. Computer simulations have been used to design the town’s buildings. It will also use smart lighting, which will switch off automatically when no one is using it. Furthermore, the town’s waste collection will be handled through a conveyance system.
Smart technologies
Tengah town, which is a planned forest town in Central Java, will use smart technology and sustainable building techniques to reduce energy consumption and preserve the natural forest environment. From the earliest planning stages, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) has used simulation software to optimize the layout of the town’s buildings and climatic conditions.
The SP Group, which is working with the city to improve the use of renewable energy storage, is developing a software system to help residents monitor their energy use. The company will also develop an application for residents to help them reduce their energy bills and encourage energy conservation. The project is part of the state’s new “green masterplan.”
Car-free town centre
Residents of Tengah will soon be able to walk, cycle and enjoy the town’s natural beauty, thanks to new eco-friendly developments in the area. These improvements will also improve health and safety for residents as they move through the town. The town’s new subterranean road system will separate pedestrian and vehicle flow, providing safe walking and cycling areas. It will also feature a forest corridor, five kilometers long and 100 metres wide. The area will be covered with trees to provide a rainforest-like feel.
Eco-friendly technologies will also be incorporated into the town’s common facilities. The town’s climatised environment will include a pedestrian-friendly city centre that will feature abundant EV charging stations. The town will also feature smart socket outlets and distribution boards that will help residents to monitor energy and water usage and encourage positive behavioural changes. Those who opt for these innovations will be able to save money on their electricity and water bills.
