Foresthill District Combines Urban Living with Nature

The Forestville District combines the best of both worlds: urban living and nature. A mix of apartment buildings and traditional houses make up the area. New residents are buying up older homes and replacing them with extravagant “McMansions.” A 21-story tower, the Windsor, was completed in 2005 and includes 95 luxury apartments and amenities like a fitness center, roof deck, and multi-level parking garage. Other high-rises in the area include the Kennedy House, a soaring tower with a pool on its roof.

Foresthill District’s Lab for Nature-Based Urban Living

The Lab for Nature-Based Urban Living is a two-site, community-owned venture that is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable food system. More than half of the world’s population lives in cities, and many people have lost their knowledge of how to grow and eat healthy food. The Lab will help solve this problem by providing affordable and accessible training for residents of urban areas.

Currently, there is a growing interest in the role of nature-based solutions in urban design, including the use of natural habitats to improve ecosystem services. In many parts of the world, nature-based solutions are already being implemented into cities. While traditional urban planning practices continue to be used, nature-based solutions are becoming increasingly common.

Community’s commitment to integrating nature into built environment

The Foresthill School District’s commitment to integrating nature into the built environment is evident in the design and construction of the Foresthill Environmental School. The environmentally themed school opened in 2001 with 96 fifth-grade students. Its name was inspired by the school’s founding principal, Kelly Goodwillie, who was famous for her love of nature.

Home prices in Foresthill District

Forest Hills has several neighborhoods, each with its own appeal and price range. Forest Hills Gardens, for example, is America’s oldest planned community and is home to housing that ranges from attached townhouses to huge mansions. The other neighborhood, Van Court, has fewer architectural restrictions and is home to detached brick and stucco homes. The neighborhood is also home to a large number of co-ops, which were originally built as rental apartments.

Forest Hills is a popular destination for retirees who want a peaceful country setting while still being close to the big city. The community is home to many single-family homes, attached townhouses, and apartment buildings, most of which date back to the 1920s and 1940s. Homes for sale in the neighborhood tend to sell quickly, staying on average for about seven days on the market.

For those who appreciate nature, the area is filled with trees and tree-lined streets. It’s a great place to raise a family. The neighborhood provides a blend of the tranquil ambiance of the country with the convenience of a thriving city. It’s also close to popular restaurants and craft cafes. And the city is not far away, so residents can easily get to the beaches of Laguna Honda.
