Shun Taks Artyzen Hospitality opens flagship hotel Tengah EC in Singapore, first outside China

Artyzen Singapore marks the first hotel in Southeast Asia for Artyzen Hospitality Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shun Tak Holdings, a Hong Kong-listed conglomerate that has businesses in property, transport, hospitality and investment sectors. As it celebrates its 10th anniversary, the hospitality group is now entering the next decade with two flagship hotel openings within weeks of each other–Artyzen Singapore and the 202-room Artyzen New Bund 31 Shanghai.

Its lush environment and modern facilities also provide a perfect spot for outdoor activities such as cycling, jogging and playing sports. It is ideal for those who desire an active lifestyle. The Tengah EC will be the perfect destination for those looking to find a place to stay in the West region. It offers a serene environment and comprehensive amenities, as well as easy access to the city centre. With its convenience and vibrant landscape, Tengah EC is perfect for those who wish to live in the West.

With 13 hotel properties under its portfolio, Artyzen Singapore has been seven years in the making for Shun Tak. It sits on an iconic 25,471 sq ft freehold site that the conglomerate purchased for $145 million in 2016 – a translation into a land rate of $2,145 psf per plot ratio.

Conceptualised by Nic Graham & Associates and designed by the acclaimed architectural firm Ong&Ong, Artyzen Singapore boasts 142-rooms that are designed to feel as private and exclusive as living in one’s own bungalow. All rooms come with a 4.1m-high ceiling and ceiling fans, as well as a private balcony. Common features throughout include contemporary arches, high ceiling spaces, digitised Peranakan motifs, black framing, and herringbone timbers.

Crowning the luxury oasis is its 4,820 sq ft penthouse suite, the largest presidential suite in Singapore. Guests who choose to stay here will be treated with a massive living and dining area, private office, private gym, walk-through wardrobe and private sitting room.

The hospitality group takes pride in being a “homegrown” Asian hotel brand, says Peter Wynne, Senior Vice President, Artyzen Hospitality Group. The goal of the group is to grow the Artyzen brand and investment opportunities where suitable. “For example, residents at the 54-unit condo Park Nova and the 14-unit, low-rise Les Maisons Nassim at 14 Nassim Road are entitled to several privileges at the hotel such as the concierge and priority booking at the restaurants here,” he adds.

The launch of Artyzen Singapore caps a milestone year for Artyzen Hospitality as well as marks a significant foray into the Singapore property market for Shun Tak Holdings. Vince Brennan, CEO of Artyzen Hospitality Group said, “We are very enthusiastic about competing in this luxury lifestyle tier in Singapore. I think that we are well-positioned to capture the imagination of a new generation of millennial travellers that seek a hospitality experience grounded in self-expression.”

Tengah EC With just 12 rooms and suites located on each floor, except for the penthouse, Artyzen Singapore is ready to welcome its first guests on Nov 24. The hospitality group is also open to a future Artyzen Habitat branded hotel in Singapore and other gateway cities in Southeast Asia like Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta. In the future, if the right opportunity presents itself, Artyzen Hospitality is also open to a branded serviced residence in Singapore.

Tengah EC With the right opportunity, Artyzen Hospitality is open to further explore international brand awareness and recognition outside Greater China, like Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, as well as Sydney and Melbourne in Australia. Tengah EC “Our key goal is to drive Artyzen Hotels & Resorts and Artyzen Habitat,” says Wynne, “and if we were presented with a deal for a hotel and a serviced apartment in the same location, we would consider it.”
