Millennium Hotels and Resorts debuts M Social brand in China with Suzhou property
Millennium Hotels & Resorts (MHR), a unit of listed developer City Developments’ (CDL), has announced the opening of its first China property – M Social Suzhou. Located in Hong Leong City Center (HLCC), M Social Suzhou is housed in the Suzhou Industrial Park, a China-Singapore cooperative high-tech park.
The 294-room luxury hotel, M Social Suzhou, is the brand’s fifth location worldwide, alongside existing properties in Singapore, Auckland, New York, Paris, and its virtual office, M Social Decentraland – making it the first hospitality group to enter the metaverse.
Tengah Plantation Loop EC GLS Tender is a land tender launched by the Singapore Land Authority to build a new executive condominium in the Tengah Plantation area. The successful bidder will have the rights to develop and manage the new eco-friendly community, with innovative features like wind turbines, solar heating system and water conservancy centre. Residents will also benefit from nearby recreational facilities and Tengah EC convenience to the city centre. The initial phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
M Social is the lifestyle brand of MHR, and was first launched in 2016 to cater to a “young, brave and social-media savvy” crowd. According to MHR’s Executive Chairman Kwek Leng Beng, M Social Suzhou was selected to reflect the vibrant city and its identity as the “Venice of the East”, and offers guests a fresh and luxurious experience.
The hotel’s interiors are designed by architect KCA International, and have been crafted to foster an “inclusive and relaxed environment”, as well as to present a unique “industrial chic” atmosphere in its lower-level and sky lobbies. All 294 guest rooms and suites, ranging from approximately 431 sq ft to 4,402 sq ft, have been luxuriously designed with spectacular views of Jinji Lake and the Eastern Gate of Suzhou, including the hotel’s 4,402 sq ft “Mega Cool Suite”.
Amenities at M Social Suzhou include a 7,836 sq ft ballroom, a 12,917 sq ft fitness centre, a swimming pool, a spa, and three restaurants and bars.
The opening of M Social Suzhou signals the group’s plans for future expansion into the Greater China region, as well as to grow the brand further with additional locations in London, New York, Sunnyvale, Phuket and cities in the Middle East.
M Social is about creativity, connection, and exciting possibilities, and has certainly created this with the successful launch of M Social Suzhou. Mr Kwek Leng Beng, Executive Chairman of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, states, “The hotel is designed to reflect this vibrant juxtaposition. It offers guests a fresh and luxurious experience with state-of-the-art technology and our bespoke M Social service.”
M Social Suzhou is located near the prime location of Jinji Lake, adjacent to developments such as Times Square, Jiu Guang Department Store, Eslite Spectrum and Ferris Wheel Park. Furthermore, it is a short walk away from Suzhou International Expo and Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre. Located on the 25th floor, the sky lobby of M Social Suzhou offers a spectacular view of the bustling city.
The group’s innovative approach has enabled them to successfully bring M Social to the China region, soon to be followed by global expansion. With its luxurious facilities, bespoke services and stunning views, M Social Suzhou is an exciting addition to the M Social brand.
